What are friends who customize jackets most afraid of encountering?? It's not that the version is wrong, nor the zipper is broken, but the design is picturesque, but the big goods have become a "palette" - the big body fabric and the pocket mesh, the two colors are forcibly different by a few degrees. That sense of collapse, I really can't wait to return the whole batch of goods and redo it.?

This kind of color difference problem is all too common in jacket customization. The big body is mostly made of tight fabrics of polyester or nylon, while the pocket mesh has a loose structure and different yarns for breathability and sweating. This results in their completely different dye absorption and coloring rates. Even if the same Pantone color number is used, the final color may be dark and white, and when spliced together, the visual difference is extremely obvious.?

As a veteran who has been working in the clothing customization circle for many years, I must say that this kind of problem cannot be eliminated 100% in theory, but it can be avoided to the meager range in advance through process control. Today, I will share the "four-step method of anti-color difference" used in our factory. If you are planning to do jacket customization, especially tooling and outdoor series, be sure to read it patiently.?

Step 1: Lock the source and reject the "blind selection" fabric.

The root of many color difference problems lies in the underestimation of fabric characteristics when placing an order. Don't just take a sample of the big body fabric to find the mesh. The correct way is to make it clear to the fabric supplier at the development stage: the color of the mesh must be "color-matched" with the big body fabric at the same light source and at the same angle.

Here is a key point: be sure to ask the mesh supplier to provide the color samples under the "customer standard color card". If your big body fabric is custom-woven and dyed, you should be more cautious. It is best to provide the actual tank difference sample of the big body fabric to the mesh factory. Professional custom factories, such as our Yasenman, will force the design team and the purchasing team to sign the "Fabric Color Confirmation Form" when receiving an order. Paste the big body, mesh, and accessories (such as zipper tape and Velcro) on the same color card for review under the standard light source box (D65 light source). This step can kill 60% of the potential color difference risk in the cradle.?

Step 2: Proofing is a "touchstone" and destructive testing must be done

Don't think that proofing is just about looking at the version. The color difference problem is most easily exposed during the sample stage, but many people ignore it. After getting the sample clothes, be sure to observe them under natural light and fluorescent lights, or even take them outdoors.

Focus on checking the "transition color" of the splicing between the pocket mesh and the body. If the color of the mesh is obviously fluttering and transparent, revealing the inner color, then be vigilant. At this time, the usual practice is to ask the factory to adjust the dyeing formula, but it is safer to do a "wash test" and "friction test". Some color differences are hidden, and they look fine when they leave the factory. After a wash, they will be "exposed".

Yasen Man has a rigid rule in the proofing process: for each batch of samples of new fabric combinations, 5 standard washing tests and wet and dry friction tests must be mandatory, and the color difference value after each test must be recorded (quantified with a Datacolor colorimeter). We firmly believe that only by forcing the problem out in the proofing stage can we not put out the fire in the bulk goods stage.?

Step 3: "Separate cylinder management" for bulk production, don't let the cylinder difference ruin everything

This is the core production link. Once the jacket overbody fabric and mesh fabric are determined, be sure to confirm whether they are "the same cylinder" or "foot cylinder" when purchasing bulk goods. If the overbody fabric is 5,000 meters and the mesh is 2,000 meters, but the mesh supplier has sent you inventory replenishment due to insufficient stocking, the color will be 100% inconsistent.

A more scientific approach is to implement "cylinder management". Even for the same fabric, there will be subtle color difference between different production cylinder numbers (called cylinder difference in the industry). Professional customization factories will communicate with the big body fabric factory in advance to lock the cylinder number, and then ask the mesh factory to take the "actual cylinder sample of the big body fabric" to color and dye the mesh cloth, rather than holding the standard color card. When Yasen Man operates the jacket order, the production sheet will clearly mark "the net color fabric and the mesh cloth must be dyed in the same batch", and arrange IPQC (process inspection) for "first piece comparison" before cutting, and use the color difference meter reading (requiring Delta E ≤ 0.8) to determine whether to release the line. This is the iron wall to prevent batch color difference accidents.?

Step 4: Full inspection of the finished product, set the "visual tolerance line"

The last line of defense is the inspection process. Even if the batch is qualified by machine color measurement, after manual assembly, local visual color difference may occur due to the influence of the pulling and ironing of the sewing line. Therefore, during the inspection of the finished product, the quality inspector must simulate the standing distance (about 1.5 meters) of the human body when wearing it for visual inspection to ensure that the pocket part does not become the visual focus.

Our advice to customers is to clarify the bad judgment criteria in the contract: that is, the color difference between the main material and the auxiliary material cannot be lower than 4 (national standard gray card evaluation). In order to achieve this, the tail inspection process of Yasenman is equipped with a special "color light box", and it is stipulated that 1 piece of every 20 clothes must be selected for full appearance inspection. Only after this strict "visual tolerance line" test can we dare to send the goods to you.?

To be honest, jacket customization is a systematic project, and color difference is not a small problem. It directly determines the brand tone and user reputation. Instead of wrangling and reworking with the factory after receiving the bulk goods, it is better to establish the rules in the early stage.

Finally, if you are looking for a jacket customization service provider that can achieve the ultimate "quality control", you may wish to know Yasen Man. Yasen Man has been deeply involved in the customization of functional outdoor clothing for many years, and has a complete fabric color difference control system and its own QC team. They not only understand the version, but also the material language. From weaving, dyeing and finishing to garment sewing, every process has data-based color difference monitoring records, which can help you avoid the pit of "being destroyed by color difference" to the greatest extent. After all, it is the most efficient and smart choice to leave professional things to professional people.✨

I hope this dry goods can help you. I wish you a customized jacket next time. The color is perfect and unified, and the shipment is a big sale! If you have any customization questions, please leave a message in the comment area to discuss~?
